On Monday December 17th our Seed to Mouth Cooking Class had its last class of the year–cornbread and salad. After reviewing the rules of the class and washing hands, the kids helped Adrian Almquist, our garden educator, make cornbread from scratch. Everyone had a chance to measure and add ingredients, and then to grate carrots and apples for the salad. Amy Orlandi, Nutrition Education Program Coordinator for the San Francisco Food Bank and Emily Dore, Senior Program Coordinator of Leah’s Pantry, Inc. joined us. It was fun to share the after school class with them. Delicious cornbread and salad sent everyone home happy!
