American Community Garden Association Visit

On Saturday, August 11,2012, we had a workday at Koshland Park where we were honored to host the National Conference of the American Community Garden Association. Starbucks employees were there to support us with volunteers as they have many times throughout the year. Our BEETS (Band of Environmentally Educated and Employable Teens) spoke about their experiences in the program and lead tours of Koshland Garden. Participants of the conference asked questions and engaged the youth who showed off their knowledge and expertise.
After visiting Koshland Garden, the ACGA Tour moved on to Rosa Parks Elementary School, another CommunityGrows site. The green team of the school and the Principal, Paul Jacobsen welcomed the participants and provided lunch and a tour of the upper and lower gardens. A very successful day!
