Yes, it was cold (50 degrees!), and overcast, yet who can keep us away from a BBQ? On Friday afternoon May 29, 2015, CommunityGrows held its summer kick-off BBQ in Koshland Garden to celebrate the end of the school year and all our great partnerships. 
We were honored to have the Bibimbap Backbackers here, a group of great young people promoting healthy eating with Korean cuisine. These energetic advocates aim to spread healthy eating habits by introducing healthy food. They believe that healthy eating habits provide a higher standard of living, and by extension, healthier communities.
The youth from Magic Zone, joined community members, CommunityGrows staff, volunteers, Advisory Board members, families and friends who brought chili, potato salad, cookie, and other specialty dishes to compliment the grilled hotdogs and delicious plates of bibimbap vegetables and brown rice. It was lots of fun and a chance for us all to “chill out” in every sense of the word! For more photos see our Flickr Photostream.
