On Thursday July 3, 2014 CommunityGrows staff went to visit Amy Farah Weiss, founder of Neighbors Developing Divisadero [Street] and the re-activator/manager of New Liberation Community Garden at Divisadero and Eddy Streets in San Francisco. She is in the process of coordinating a partnership between New Liberation Church (property owners), Asian Neighborhood Design, and Booker T Washington Community Service Center to apply for the City’s Community Challenge grant to strengthen and expand upon the infrastructure of New Liberation Garden. This Garden was initially developed with support from the Community Challenge grant sometime in the early 90s via a partnership with SLUG (the San Francisco League of Urban Gardeners) and the church.

CommunityGrows staff talked about ways we could support the garden and continue our partnership with Booker T. Washington Community Service Center, which will be moving into the New Liberation Church in the Fall of 2014 while their new building is being developed on Presidio Ave.
Thank you Amy for showing us around!
