Summer 2011 BEETS Celebration


Thursday, August 10th was the final day of the BEETS Summer session. Teens began the day by preparing a feast of pasta with a fresh vegetable sauce, including tomatoes, broccoli, onions, garlic; a salad with peppers, lettuce, baby tomatoes, cucumbers; and two berry and peaches pies. Jamie Tahaja, one of our volunteers, did yoga with the students after the preparations. Then everyone came down to the Koshland Learning Garden to have a celebration with their families and friends. BEETS coordinator, Lisa Drogin, gave everyone awards and certificates. We celebrated a birthday of one of the youth, and enjoyed the feast and everyone’s company. To see more photos, follow our
