Garden Workday on the Mall
Come join us on the Buchanan Mall (Intersection of Buchanan and Fulton) for a morning of community work! If you enjoy city greenscapes, being outside, or volunteering with your hands and your heart, this is the event for you. From 10am-12pm we will give back to our local neighborhood through garden projects such as weeding and vegetable planting, trash pick up, and general beautification. You’ll also learn more about the amazing community and history of the Western Addition and Fillmore neighborhoods.
The Buchanan Street Mall is halfway through a very exciting activation project, and you can still have your say, so come on down and see what it’s all about!
More info on the activation project can be found here: https://sfrecpark.org/project/buchanan-street-mall-activation-project/.

Want to make your summer veggies last all winter? Join us for a food preservation workshop and learn about pickling and fermentation.
We’ll also be working in the garden! Connect with friends and neighbors as we mulch, weed, prune, compost, disperse wood chips, and do some general clean-up in the beautiful and historic Koshland Garden!
We’ll be out in the sun and possibly in some brambles, so please wear appropriate clothing, closed-toed shoes, and bring a water bottle. (Possibly sunscreen and a hat!)
This event is open to the public and family-friendly. Contact Karen@communitygrows.org for questions or more information.
